    The purpose of this study was to establish the preferences in the selection of university or occupational study areas of the top-level 4-H partners of two southern municipalities in Puerto Rico. In addition, the criteria they took into consideration, the life skills, the people who influenced them the most, the influence of belonging to the 4-H club and educational activities. They considered in order to select the university career or future occupation. The population consisted of the 4-H high school partners of the municipalities of Villalba and Juana Díaz. The most important findings indicate that having belonged to Club 4-H was an important value when selecting their occupation. The most important thing to consider for these 4-H partners was the liking of what they are going to study. It was found that 4-H members are agree, that being a member of Club 4-H can help them choose a career in Science. The person who most influenced these 4-H partners to choose the occupation were the parents and the area of study preferred by these partners was Medicine. The educational activities of greatest preference were educational excursions and 4-H competitions. Life skills were decision-making, leadership, teamwork, problem solving, and cooperation.
