Zno is a wide band gap semiconductor (Eg=3.6eV) with direct transition, thus magnetic ion substituted ZnO could be useful for spin-based applications. With this motivation, I investigated Zn1-xCoxFe2O4 including synthesis by a solution route (sol-gel) and thin films by spin coating. The structural analysis was performed by XRD and Raman spectroscopy, and the magnetic behavior was investigated by Superconducting Quantum Interference Device (SQUID) for various compositions (0≤x≤1). For all the compositions (0≤x≤1), the material was a single-phase polycrystalline for powders and films. The structural characterization suggests cubic spinel for the compositions x=0 and x=1. For other compositions (0
