This study assessed changes in participants' knowledge of a project focused in non-formal education of socially disadvantaged farmers and ranchers in managerial skills and computer use from the Agricultural Extension Service of the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez. To achieve the objectives, data from participants was collected through a profile questionnaire and a pre and posttest. After receiving educational workshops and materials participants were able to gain knowledge and skills (after an average of 15 hours), specifically in computer use and computer packages, which will assist participants in the business for the decision making. In addition, this study determines the demographic variables that influence the possession of a computer in a farm operation. Results showed that the only significant variable in the logistic regression was to maintain records.
