    This research used the contingent valuation method through personal interviews to estimate the willingness to pay for the conservation of the urban forest at Finca Montaña, Aguadilla. A total of 371 useful interviews were made to households located in the surrounding neighborhoods of the forest. The results of this research indicate that residents of the surrounding neighborhoods are willing to pay for access to the urban forest the amount of $9.99 per person per visit. This represents an average willingness to pay for the forest conservation of $376,752.87 per year by residents of the surrounding neighborhoods. The variables age and income influence the willingness to pay of the users of the forest.
