Publication Percepción de los maestros de educación agrícola de la región de Mayagüez sobre la integración de las técnicas de assessment al currículo de educación agrícola(2017-12) Guenard-Ruiz, Alexandra; Padilla-Vélez, David; College of Agricultural Sciences; Santiago Andino, Edly; Silva Guerrero, Luis F.; Department of Agricultural Education; Soto, EdgarThis descriptive research is aimed to determine the perception of agricultural education teachers in the Mayaguez region, regarding the integration of assessment techniques to the curriculum of agricultural education. For data collection, a questionnaire was designed by the researcher and was administered to 23 teachers of agricultural education at the Mayaguez Region. The study found that the majority of the participant were female (57%) with bachelor’s Degree (70%) in Agricultural Education. The results showed that the majority of Agricultural Education teachers have a basic moderated knowledge and satisfied with the use of assessment techniques. In turn, the analysis of, results showed that there are specific assessment techniques that teachers are not aware of, and they are also aware of, that there barriers such as lack of time, preparation a lot of work, administrative, discipline, class period and lack of resources that limit teachers. Nonetheless, the study showed that participants are willing to receive guidance on new assessment techniques.
