    The experiment was conducted in order to determine the effects of stocking rate and level of wheat middling’s supplementation on weight gains young bullocks, and on pasture availability and chemical composition. The trials were carried out at the Corozal Agricultural Experiment Substation and were replicated on two consecutive years. Within each year, 45 Senepol x Charolais (279.2 ± 3.22 kg) were randomly allotted in nine groups of five animals each. All animals grazed tropical grass pastures in alternate paddocks. Treatments considered were three stocking rates (2.5, 3.0 and 3.7 bullocks ha-1) and three supplementation rates with wheat middlings (0.5, 0.7 and 0.9 % of live weight), under a complete randomized block (year) design with a split-split plot arrangement (stocking rate and supplementation). The results indicate that stocking rate and supplementation level effects were significant and the weight gain obtained, even at the highest stocking rate, averaged 0.742 ± 0.67 kg d-1, which is considerably higher than those obtained under similar conditions without supplementation. It seems that a viable alternative is to further increase the stocking rate in order to obtain higher production per area unit.
