The entrepreneurial and academic sectors have a special interest in innovation, where the academia has an objective to develop innovative alumni who will become the future entrepreneurs or employees of existing organizations. In this context, the author is motivated to understand and determine if it is effective to foster innovation using interventions based on methods of the private sector amongst the university sector. This research consists in designing, implementing and measuring educational modules based on proven private sector techniques. The results suggest that these modules are effective in promoting innovation in university students. The author shares the lessons learned from designing this methodology and the implementation of it.
