Publication Implementation of the iterative multiple criteria simulation optimization method(2023-05-12) Montes Masmela, Haider; Cabrera Ríos, Mauricio; College of Arts and Sciences - Sciences; Cáceres Duque, Luis F.; Ríos Soto, Karen; Department of Mathematics; Ortiz Rivera, Eduardo I.This work focuses on the implementation of the iterative multiple criteria simulation optimization method (iMCSO) proposed by the research group on applied optimization from the University of Puerto Rico Mayagüez. This method involves using an optimization strategy to manipulate the parameters of a simulation problem in search of the best possible configurations in the presence of several conflicting performance measures. The strategy in this work requires applying expertise in experimental design and metamodeling, reviewing, and adapting the optimization of multiple criteria (MCO) to an iterative framework, and developing the corresponding programming codes in a single algorithm. The resulting algorithm can be applied with real manufacturing parameters or a computer simulation, for this reason we illustrate the method's application in a real experiment that involves plastic straps deformation, as well as in obtaining the weights for a neural network.
