    Design and development of an electronic circuit for concentration measurement and diagnosis of sulfhemoglobin in blood

    This thesis presents the design of an electronic circuit capable of detecting and measuring the concentration of SulfHemoglobin (sulfHb) in blood. Levels from 0.2%, to above 3% of contamination are measured can be measured to detect Sulfhemoglobinemia. Detection was designed using different analog and digital modules, capable of measuring light intensity variations related to the concentration of SulfHb in the blood sample. The proposed system registers the current-to-voltage changes produced by the absorption and fluorescence emission spectrum of the sample, allowing the detection and measurement of SulfHb percentage concentration in blood. Obtained results demonstrate that the designed circuit is capable of detecting the absorption and fluorescence emission spectrum of the sample. Comparison between absorption and emission detection between the proposed circuit and other experimental work is shown.
