Data in the smart grid is generated from various sources including for example, energy consumption data measured by smart meters, operation data from devices in the power infrastructure, data from sensors distributed over transmission and distribution networks, and auxiliary data such as weather, geographic information system, social media, and energy market data. With so much data being generated related to smart grids, users may not be able to make informed decisions related to energy consumption and/or production. In this project, we tackle this problem by creating an easy to use dashboard that presents smart grid data. The two main objectives of this project are to: (1) study and review the best practices in the collection, analysis and visualization of data from smart grids; and (2) implement a smart grid data work ow that includes data collection from diverse sources and interactive visualization. We have implemented a dashboard called the OASIS dashboard using various tools and techniques for data analysis and visualization. Using this dashboard users may reach a better understanding of data related to smart grids and potentially make conscious decisions regarding to energy consumption and/or production.
