Agriculture is a unique economic engine for every country. Puerto Rico was once a leader in world agriculture, being among the top ten countries with higher added value per employee. Industrial engineering is essential in the generation of new food companies to ensure optimum utilization of resources. The work presented here promotes the use of techniques and methodologies of industrial engineering applied to a food processor. A simulation of the production line for the company's developed products was carried out to optimize its capacity. This provided the information to design the physical facilities within the space provided and considering other constraints. In addition, a VBA/Excel model was developed that includes the constraints and objective function of the Vehicle Routing problem according to the client scenarios to be distributed. Operational costs were analyzed, providing insight into areas of opportunity for the company.
