The suitable organization of resources involved in productive activities allows the search for adequate efficiencies, based on minimizing material handling costs and reducing the problems generated by the interference in flows and human resource. The plant layout oriented to the formation of manufacturing cells offers advantages in flexibility typical of workshops, as well as reduction in stock levels and setup times, allowing for better response times. In this work an algorithm based on the heuristic goal Harmonic Search is designed, inspired by the musical composition in which the memory of harmonies already created with the natural process of improvisation is combined. The result of the algorithm applied to particular case studies is contrasted with the optimal results generated by the linear programming model, in order to evaluate and conclude about its performance.
