This study aimed to describe the students of the agricultural education program and the curricular sequence’ perception in relation to teach agriculture sciences at the elementary level, as well as the barriers that may exist for its implementation. A questionnaire was developed and answered by 27 students, mostly females at their fifth year of study from the Department of Agricultural Education. Eighty-nine percent (89%) of the participants understood that teaching at the elementary level differs significantly in methodological terms from teaching at the higher level. They recommend that Agricultural Education be introduced from the first grade, specifically covering topics related to "Plant Parts." They agree that the lack of farm-appropriate tools and a proper classroom/laboratory are barriers to implementing Agricultural Education at the elementary level. Ninety six percent (96%) indicated that one of the most relevant skills required for working at this level is proficiency in teaching strategies in the classroom and 93% of them indicated understanding agricultural concepts.
