Aplicación del modelo de sustentabilidad de bosques urbanos a Puerto Rico

This work presents a model of sustentability of urban forests that allows us to measure the level or degree of efficiency of the primary group that manage it. Three questionnaires were created based on the criteria and indicators of performance established by the Model of Sustentability of Urban forests of Clark, Matheny, Cross & Wake. They were applied in the municipalities of San Juan, Guaynabo and Bayamón. Of the total maximum points that could be obtained, government agencies got 63.7%, organizations without profit 65.7% and citizens between 54.4% - 56.7%. The survey revealed that governmental agencies and organizations without profit aims are in a degree of efficiency between good and moderate and citizens, are in a moderate degree of efficiency.
