Some experiences have shown that specialized education in women can improve their performance in the agro-business, financial position, their family and society position, selfesteem and empowerment. In addition, improving access of women agricultural education helps to improve food production, family nutritional status and improve the country's food security. This research assesses the learning outcomes of the participants of the Entrepreneurship Center for Women in Puerto Rico’s Agriculture (Centro Empresarial para la Mujer en la Agricultura de Puerto Rico, CEMA) during 2007 to 2009. A quasi-experimental design was used to evaluate the socio-economic empowerment in three groups of women after a year of their participation in CEMA. A questionnaire was designed to evaluate the participant’s empowerment using the theory of human capital and entrepreneurship. Results demonstrate that the entrepreneurship training in agri-business for women contributed to the participant’s empowerment.
