    Monolithic integrated solar energy harvesting system

    A system capable of harvesting the solar energy through the use of integrated solar cells is presented. The system consists of a start-up circuit, a maximum power point tracking scheme and a DC-DC conversion stage. The use of floating gate transistors permits the operation of the start-up circuit and charge pumps with input voltages <0.7V. The system was designed, fabricated and tested in a 0.5μm CMOS technology. Measured results demonstrate an output of 1V for the start-up circuit with an input of 0.3V and the behavior of the complete energy harvesting system.
