A grid portal based tool for the deployment and management of grid infrastructures

Abstract

The deployment of grid infrastructures is a time consuming and arduous task, therefore, the goal of this work was to establish an easy, “out of the box”, grid por- tal environment that allows administrators to go through installation/configuration procedures as fast possible. This project comprehended the development and integration of a set of administrative tools into a grid portal environment. It was designed to automate and help grid administrators in the deployment and configuration of services on the grid. The work conducted here shows to be highly expandable, opening opportunities for new emerging grid configuration tools through grid portals and contributes as the starting point for future developers.

El proceso de instalación de una infraestructura “grid” es una tarea ardua que consume tiempo, por lo cual el principal objetivo de este proyecto fue establecer un ambiente sencillo, fácil y listo para usar, que permite a los administradores llevar a cabo los procesos de instalación ágilmente. El proyecto abarcó el desarrollo e integración de un grupo de herramientas administrativas en un portal “grid”, diseñadas para automatizar y asistir a los administradores en la configuración de los servicios en el mismo. El trabajo realizado puede ser ampliamente adaptado, abriendo oportunidades para la creación de nuevas herramientas de configuración emergentes a traves de portales “grid”, a la vez que contribuye sentando las bases para futuros desarrolladores.
