dc.description.abstractIt is important that every organization with paid employees or voluntaries has an employee handbook since they serve as a communication tool between the organization and the employee. A well written and comprehensive employee handbook can rid the organization of future demands or claims of uncomfortable employees with assigned tasks or any penalty imposed. For this research a questionnaire was created which was intended to know how many non-profit organizations (NPOs) have an employee handbook. The questionnaire was also created to find out if the handbooks contained the essential and necessary information. Most of the organizations that participated in this research have an employee handbook, but it does not include all the relevant sections it should. A guide for the creation of an employee handbook with all components and laws which should serve as an effective employee handbook was designed.
dc.description.abstractEs importante que toda organización con empleados asalariados o voluntarios tenga un manual del empleado ya que éstos sirven como herramienta de comunicación entre la organización y el empleado. El manual del empleado bien redactado y completo puede librar a la organización de futuras demandas o reclamos de empleados inconformes con las tareas asignadas o alguna sanción impuesta. Para esta investigación se creó un cuestionario donde se pretendía conocer cuantas organizaciones sin fines de lucro (OSFL) poseen un manual del empleado y de tenerlo, si tiene las partes esenciales de un manual. Se distribuyó el cuestionario y 29 de las 32 OSFL que participaron, poseen el manual del empleado pero no tienen todas las partes importantes. Se diseñó una guía para la creación de un manual del empleado con todos los componentes y leyes que debe atender un manual de empleado efectivo.
