dc.description.abstractWe studied the magnetic circular dichroism spectra (MCD) of ZnO1−xCoxO (x = 0.00, x = 0.05 and x = 0.01) thin films. No magneto-optical effect was observed in the ZnO sample, while samples of ZnO:Co 5% and ZnO:Co 10% MCD was observed in the region of 360 < λ < 450 nm which is close to the forbidden energy gap of semiconductor ZnO. In studying the MCD as a function of magnetic field curves were obtained with hysteresis loops which were modeled with the function A∗tanh(B∗(x−C))+D∗x−E. With the results we approached the values of saturation level, the remanent magnetization and coercivity of the samples. As a result we find that these physical quantities tend to decrease with temperature, as expected, confirming that the MCD is observed as a function of applied magnetic field.en_US
dc.description.abstractSe estudiaron los espectros de dicroísmo circular magnético (MCD) de las películas delgadas ZnO1−xCoxO (x = 0.00, x = 0.05 y x = 0.01). No se observó efecto magneto óptico en la muestra de ZnO, mientras que en las muestras de ZnO:Co 5 % y ZnO:Co 10 % se observo ́ MCD en la región de 360 < λ < 450 nm lo cual está cerca de la brecha de energía prohibida del semicondictor ZnO. Al estudiar el MCD como función del campo magnético se obtuvieron curvas con lazos de histerésis que se modelaron con la función A ∗ tanh(B ∗ (x − C)) + D ∗ x − E. Con los resultados se aproximaron los valores del nivel de saturación, la magnetización remanente y la coercividad de las muestras. Como resultado observamos que estas cantidades físicas tienden a disminuir con la temperatura, como es esperado, confirmando que lo observado es el MCD como función del campo magnético aplicado.en_US
