dc.description.abstract | English teaching grammar and translanguaging are topics already carried out by some authors such as, Hos & Kekec (2015), García and Li (20014) and Mazak and Herbas-Donoso (2015). Both topics are studied separately but never studied together. This case study took place in a section of the course INGL 3101, which is the first course of the basic English sequence at the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez. This course is offered mainly to first-year college students and focuses heavily on English grammar. The instruments used to collect were: a student survey, a group interview with students, an interview with the instructor of the class, and seven class observations. All of the data was collected online. One of the main findings of this study was that translanguaging was used by the instructor to help students understand and connect with grammar topics, through doubts clarification and expressing opinions or ideas. | en_US |

| en_US |
