    Literacia financiera entre los estudiantes universitarios

    This research aims to determine the level of financial literacy among university students of the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez, as well as identify factors that may affect their financial knowledge. Also, the study look to determine whether there were differences in financial literacy with regard to gender and student’s academic level. Data was gathered through a self-administered questionnaire via Qualtrics. The survey was available to all active students between spring and fall of 2018. Results show students have a low level of financial literacy. Furthermore, analysis show there is a statistically significant difference in the level of financial literacy between students from different academic areas, academic level and gender. An OLS analysis identified the factors that determined the level of financial literacy. This study aims to increase the amount of information available on the level of financial literacy in Puerto Rico and college students in particular.
