    Diseño de una base de datos de costos unitarios en construcción de edificios en el Recinto Universitario de Mayagüez

    The objective of this project was to establish a Unit Construction Price Database for the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez (RUM). The process consisted on the investigation of past -campus- projects construction documents, stored at the Office of Institutional Research and Planning. The construction documents included certifications for payment, change orders and notes of construction meetings. All the unitary prices were stored in a computer program, which enables very efficient search and usage of the information resulting in the development of a construction unitary price database. Although the computer program is extremely useful to estimate construction prices, based on past -campus- projects, it is limited to on-campus projects only. Therefore, applying this information to external projects or private projects can reflect results different to the actual market values.
