    In Puerto Rico there is no scientific study providing the basic and fundamental knowledge of the characteristics, nutritional needs, and physical demands in Ballet. The purpose of this study was to describe the physiological profile and lifestyles of professional Ballet dancers in Puerto Rico. The purpose was to create an initial database to encourage future research related to Puerto Rican ballet dancers. A sample of 20 professional dancers, 14 women (M = 28.4 years, SD = 6.15) and six men (M = 28.5 years, SD = 5.82) between the ages of 19 to 38 years were evaluated. The dancers performed maximal exercise test to measure aerobic and anaerobic power. Body composition measurements where obtained. They also completed three questionnaires, one related to their professional profile and lifestyle and two questionnaires about the frequency of food intake, eating habits and food intake on the day of the performance. The results indicated an average aerobic capacity of 57.58 ml.kg-1.min-1 1 SD = 11.82 in men and 54.44 ml.kg-1.min-1 SD = 5.39 in the women. The average peak power of men was 764.51 W, SD = 117.95, and 439.65 W, SD = 75.36 for women. The results of %fat in the men was 13.05% SD = 3.84 and 13.14% SD = 3.35. These values are considered low when compared to high-performance athletes. The nutritional questionnaires revealed that the dancers followed and unbalanced and low calorie diet. The lifestyle questionnaire revealed a stressful lifestyle related to their dancing and external workloads.
