Oral history interview with Miguel L. Figueroa Villavicencio, November 18, 2022

Abstract

The narrator is Miguel Figueroa Villavicencio. Miguel was born on June 21, 2004. His father and mother are both civil engineers with degrees from UPRM. Miguel is presently enrolled in a civil engineering bachelor's program. About four years ago, a mutual friend introduced Miguel and me. Since then, our friendship has grown to be quite strong. The period of the narrator's life is september 17,2017. This day was when Hurricane Maria came over Puerto Rico. The narrator's life experiences fit into the social movements of community help, we talk about how the community came together to help each other in very difficult period where everyone lost something.

El narrador es Miguel Figueroa Villavicencio. Miguel nació el 21 de junio de 2004. Su padre y su madre ambos son ingenieros civiles con grados de la UPRM. Actualmente, Miguel está cursando su bachillerato en ingeniería civil. Hace aproximadamente cuatro años, una amistad mutua nos presentó a Miguel y a mí. Desde entonces, hemos desarrollado una amistad bastante fuerte. El periodo de la vida del narrador es el 17 de septiembre de 2017. Este fue el día en que pasó el huracán María sobre Puerto Rico. Las experiencias de vida del narrador se relacionan con los movimientos sociales de ayuda comunitaria. Hablamos sobre cómo la comunidad se unió para ayudarse unos a otros durante un periodo sumamente difícil en el cual todo el mundo perdió algo.
